Drayton
A special name for a special person
How was I to know on that winter day, the child I bore would help me along the way and affect the person that I'd come to be, how could I know, how could I see, that Drayton Collins a special boy, would live to spread so much joy. He questioned things of how they are, why people hated, what gave them scar. He looked at the world as his choice to pick, to learn of things, what made them tick. He loved for family to be together amid the love and even the anger. His greatest pride was Elijah, his only son, he loved to watch him walk and run. As his dad he expressed the wish that he'd never feel alone, to be confident of the love that he was shown.
If love never dies, then my love for you my baby boy is eternal.

Drayton and his SMILE, will truely be missed. I had the great pleasure of working with him as a teacher aide and then in his adult life he would stop in to see me weekly just to say "Hi" as my office was near his bus route. My nephew's life also ended over the weekend, so the Elliott family knows your pain and WE KNOW GOD! Your family will continue to be in our prayers..............

There is such a deep sense of lost in everyones heart who knew Drayton. He was such a loving and kindhearted person to everyone he seemed to meet. I will miss Drayton, his smile, seeing him drive his mother's truck, playing with his cousins who he loved, and his always warm hugs when he greeted me. With tears, I say I will always love you Drayton. The Lord and your grandmother Helen, I know, has welcomed you home with open loving arms. May now the grace of God be with Deborah and David and give them both strength during this time of sadness.
My loving nephew...

Deborah & David,
I can remember meeting Dray @ Linda & Mark's house. I remember he was so shy, and me telling him to let that "beautiful smile" come out. So, everytime I would see him he would flash me this big smile! Keep on smiling Drayton!! May your soul rest in peace!!

Drayton was so very special to us at the library, his shy smile and respectful demeanor will always be remembered. His speech at graduation was inspiring. He was inspiring. I only knew him for a few years but he will remain in my heart forever.
My very deepest sympathy to his family, thank you for allowing us the opportunity to know this kind and wonderful young man.
