I was very saddened to hear of the passing of our great friend. Although it has been years, Gene was never forgotten by any of us. Memories of many warm and wonderful camps together stay in our thoughts and always will.

I didn't know Gene had passed away until I saw an announcement on the library door today (Thursday).
I'm so sorry. My children (LJ & Clara - the 2 red heads) loved to see him & Clara would just give him the biggest smile she could when she saw him as we came in for story hour.
He will truly be missed by many & our deepest thoughts & prayers go out to your family.

Although it has been many years since I have seen Gene I have many fond memories of him and the work he did for me at West Herr Ford. I am sure he will be missed by his family.
