Thanks for the very true post on 9/21/11 about Gene. It's great to still see the influence of such a "Blue Collar Dude." The first time I read this guest book, it was horror and sadness. Today my tears and heart were less heavy. Thank you again.

So many people cared about you... who think about you every single day still... who haven't forgotten and never will... God Bless ECM, one of the best men I ever knew.

We could not let this book close without expressing our deepest sympathy to Gene's family and Amie.
As we said our final goodbye to our brother road dork, a few weeks ago, we grieved with many people we knew and many we did not. By the turn out he received you know how much he was loved and how much he will be missed. Gene was the backbone of the Road Dorks and we will hold his memory close in our hearts forever and we continue to ride in his honor. Look over us. Keep us safe. We love you and will miss you forever. Road Dorks Ride On.
or as Gene would say Shut Up and Ride.

Gene, we didn't see you but a couple times a year during riding season, but they were always good times. When I see a bike I think of you & picture that BIG Goofy but sincere smile you always had plastered across your face. The happiness inside you shined like a light. “Good thing it wasn’t right over that bald head of yours or we would be blinded…LOL” Mr. Clean! Just kidding goofy ;-) we will never forget the time spent with you. Riding together was awesome...from the casino in Salamanca, the streets of Ellicottville, Thursday’s at the Cobblestone after the square (when we were afraid to ride the brick road & you told us we were crazy & to “just do it”, but we weren’t on our Harley’s yet so there was no way!), the Marilla Car Show (just a few short weeks ago) & especially the hills of Zoar Valley…when I thought we were goners & you just flew down the hill on that sweet night train to the rescue! Riding with you was a blast; we will never forget the laughs we had when I would kick my feet out, put my hand on my hip & mimic your riding pose. You would make fun of me because I always had a HUGE cheesy grin on my face. You would laugh saying “look at you…all teeth” & we would just crack up while we cruised down the road. My heart goes out to your family; I can’t imagine the pain they feel as the pain we feel as your friends is tremendous. You will never be forgotten & you will be missed my many. I praise Jesus for us becoming friends. What an honor!

Mace,
I just heard the news tonight. My heart is very heavy. The last time I saw you, I took you to the place where Randy Rhodes passed in the plane crash. You said you heard Crazy Train when the wind was blowing. I now hear your giggle in that spot. You are one friend that I never recall anyone not liking you or you fighting with anyone. You were always upbeat and a good time was sure to be close behind you. I will never forget you heckling me at the softball games or driving around with Fuad in your crappy red Vette (Chevette) ! listening to And Justice For All....over and over again. We couldn't listen to the radio! You and Fuad rolled over the antenna and broke it off while wrestling. You are a great spirit that will be missed. See you in the good life. Love you Gene!

To Gene's family, I just got this news from my son, Chris in Florida-he was friends as high schoolers with Gene and Dan Schultz. I met Gene on numerous ocassions and he was always a polite nice person. My sons are very upset over Gene's death. I know Gene is in a better place but I know that doesn't stop the hurt for each of you. He will be in our thoughts and prayers. I know the death of a child is horrific, I didn't have to face that my son, Chris was spared 7 years ago but at first it wasn't so. My prayers are with Gene's parents. God bless you all and we loved you Gene. Veronica & Ronnie Otremba

Dear Maciejewski Family and Amie,
I am VERY sorry to hear about Gene's passing. I was not able to attend the funeral.
It has been some years since I saw Gene but I have so many GREAT memories of him, its hard to believe he is gone now.
We did so much in the short time we had together- it would be hard to ever forget him tough. Gene showed me how to shoot a shotgun, took me to my first Sabres game, took me fishing and spotting and he shared with me so many of my own first experiences- he even got me to eat venison!
I got to be with Gene when ge got his first tattoo as well as when the time when he got his 6 pointer- he was so proud. He amazed me at the amount of knowlegde he had for hunting, fishing and his passion for the outdoors and just life in general.
I am attaching a few great pictures I have of Gene and will send the rest of the pictures to his dad. If anyone would like copies of the 12 pictures I have, I would be happy to email them-just send me an email.
Lastly, I would like to just say "Thank you Gene for sharing your heart with me - until we meet again, You moshing maniac!"

Still so hard to imagine Gene has left us all. There are not enough words to describe what a terrific person he was. His constant smile & goofiness couldn't help but make anyone happy. All I can say is it is always in God's hands, it's up too him, and their was a reason why he called him, but Gene you will always be riding high up their with the Angels in Heaven!! Dear Eugene family,
The thing I remember most about Eugene his personality and his smile. When he came into my office for his dental cleaning, we joked around to getting his wisdom teeth out. I was scared of the oral surgeon and he was too. I made a bet with him when I got mine out that he had to do his. Well up in heaven he doesn't have to worry anymore about those wisdom teeth. I hope he is safe and happy on the other side. Truely missed. God got a great guy up there. His Dental Hygienist Gidget and GBK office staff. Prays and thoughts to his family.

At the jail, I used to call you "Mean Gene". Nothing could be further form the truth. That night at work, I remember receiving the news of your passing and the dread I felt because of it. The sadness your family and friends will face without you; and maybe selfishly the loss I would feel as I valued your friendship. Little did I realize at the time, that your death would have such a deep and profound effect on the other officers as well. Several have told me they were having difficulty coming to terms with their grief because it hit them in ways they weren't expecting it to. I guess it stands as a testament to the kind of person you have been; that so many morn you so deeply. I will miss swapping deer hunting stories with you and of course your George Forman Grill and the deer steaks you cooked on it.When we worked together you always would say to me "I love this thing, Here try this steak it's great." This fall when we return to our deer woods to enjoy the colors and the peace and quiet, you will be with us in spirit. Hopefully now it's "All Good" and your in Hog Heaven and making those side trips to the Happy Hunting Grounds. Your missed by many. God Bless you Amie.....dave

We are so sorry for your loss. This comes as a great shock to us. We lost touch with Gene through the years but we never forgot our memories of him. He was an old friend that was easy going, fun loving and happy all the time. We had great times camping, going to concerts, football games and just plain hanging out. We will never forget him. We wanted to share a picture that we have had since the early 1990's. It is from a concert at Darien Lake. This picture has been framed and on our shelf since we lived in South Buffalo (1994) and has stayed on the same shelf here in Bonita Springs, FL. for the past 10 years.
