Edward J. "Sam" Kolodziej Sr.

KOLODZIEJ - Edward J., Sr. Sam August 23, 2008, of Buffalo, NY, husband of the late Hilda (nee Kipler); dear father of Edward J. Jr. Sam; brother of the late Charles, Sally (late Joseph) Stasiszyn, Mary (late Henry) Wojteczek and William (Alice) Kolodziej; grandfather of Mary Louise (Matthew) Levine; great-grandfather of Michael, Ryan, Jarrett and Joshua; also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral Services Thursday at 9:15 AM from the SIECK & MAST FUNERAL HOME, 250 Orchard Park Rd., West Seneca, 825-5205 and in Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Family will be present Tuesday 7-9 PM and Wednesday 4-8 PM. Sam was born and raised in the Old First Ward and was a retiree from Hanna Furnace after 42 years of service. He was a lifelong member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church and Bison City Rod & Gun Club. At 17, he went into the CCC Camp. He served in WWII in the Pacific Theater Guam, Guada Canal and participated in the Invasion of Iwo Jima. He was also a member of the VFW Weber Post. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice Buffalo, Inc. Interment in Holy Cross Cemetery.
