Mary Varga Obituary

VARGA - Mary Jean (nee Daly) August 24, 2008, of the town of Tonawanda, NY. Beloved wife and life time partner to Col. Joseph Varga; mother of William, Lisa and Susan (James) Browning; grandmother of Travis and Brett; sister of Dorothy (late John) Collins, Margaret Peggy (Donald) Reidy and the late Reverend Thomas Daly; survived by several nieces and nephews. Friends may call Wednesday 2-8 PM at the LESTER H. WEDEKINDT FUENRAL HOME, 3290 Delaware Ave. Friends are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial in St. John the Baptist R.C. Church (Highland & Englewood Ave.) Thursday morning at 10:45. Memorials may be made to the Joseph and Mary Jean Daly Varga Exceptional Education Graduate Scholarship Fund at Buffalo State College.

On behalf of the Western Zone of the New York State Retired Teachers' Association (NYSRTA), sympathy and prayers are extended to the family of Mary Jean. In her memory, a donation will be made to the Robert DeCormier Fund of NYSRTA, which assists retired educators in need. May she rest in peace!

i use to live in buffalo for 40 years. I did not know ms. varga but seeing her photo, what a beautiful lady!Absolutely stunning! God bless the family, Iam deeply sorry for your loss.

Jean and I shared a favorite memory of walking on the beach in VA. Others assumed I was her daughter, not daughter-in-law. We knew that showed the special bond we shared.
