Ilene and family,
I feel awful writing this at this late date. I was not aware of Gerry's passing until it was mentioned in the story about the Paster Basketball Tournaments coming up. I missed it, I guess, because I had just left the hospital after cancer surgery myself Labor Day weekend.
I remember many good times in Gerry's company and friendship, playing softball, going to Sabres games, parties at our house and yours, having a few drinks at Cole's, even ran into him once in Fort Lauderdale when I was down there for a Bills game.
I will miss him.

I would like to express my condolences to the Cooper family. I know this is a sad time for all. On a slightly brighter and more humourous note, I would like to reminisce for a brief moment, back to my camper years in Franklinville. I specifically remember one summer when my friend Laura's father came for a visit and put smiles on the faces of me and my friends. Before I knew it, our trunks became secretly filled with bottles of soda, from Pepsi to Root Beer...needless to say, we were a bunch of happy campers that day.

My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Dear Cooper Family,
We were truly saddened to her about your loss this morning. Laura meeting you father was an experience that I will never forget. "Nice to meet you Mr. Cooper." I said, "Yeah, What's so nice about it?" came the reply. Still makes me laugh thinking about it. Wish we could be there for you today. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all. - The Bleeze Family

Dear Cooper Family,

I never had the pleasure of meeting the whole Cooper Familly but was fortunate enough to play hockey with Dave, which quite naturally gained me exposure to Mr. Coops, as we so fondly called him. He was a unique individual and always took time to speak with us after each game he attended. He had such a great way of telling you how you performed. His delivery was special, as he always knew what to say in each situation. This gift is the memory I'll take away. Mr. Coops could sure light up a room with his smile and wit. He will be missed greatly but remain very much with us.

Dearest Illene & family ,
I certainly wasn't ready for this news of Jerrys' passing . Just memories of us at the Buffalo Jewish Center on Delaware Ave., running the NorthPark section and Crystal Beach as teen agers . Also his picking me up on late Sunday afternoons to go and see the Buffalo Sabres hockey games with him and the Pastor family .
He and your family will always be in our thoughts .

Dear Cooper Family;

I had the pleasure of knowing Gerry for many years, mostly in a work related relationship. A very genuine man with a sincere heart and funny. Boy could he tell a story or a joke.

I know how much his family meant to him and I can't begin to comprehend how much he will be missed by all of you.

May you all have wonderful memories of Gerry.

My deepest condolences to the entire Cooper Family.

Dear Illene, Stacy, David, Laura and grandkids,

I was truly saddened by the news of Gerald's passing. I have so many fond memories of him joking at "Aunt Sophie's," with his always-ready smile and positive outlook on life. I remember cousin's club picnics and family gatherings, and even though I left Buffalo so very many years ago, he was often in my thoughts and always in my heart.

May you all find comfort at this difficult time, and may his memory be blessed.
