My condolences to the Hochreiter family at this sad time. What can I say? Dr. H. was a professor of mine at PSU, as well as, a member of my PhD Committee and a reviewer of my thesis, I will always treasure the thorough revision I got from him, as well as the comments during his classes, He will be deeply missed, and surely is now teaching NucE stuff in a much better place.

My deepest sympothy to your family.
My name is Montie Hochreiter Pafford. I am the daughter of Lawrence H. Hochreiter, and live in Ft. Worth Tx. I never met Lawrence E. but have seen several pictures of him, and other family members. I have always wanted to look up my step brothers and sister, but never took the time.
I would love to hear from any of you guys. Again, I am sorry for your loss.

I was a secretary in the Nuclear Safety Department at Westinghouse until 1982, where Larry was one of my direct managers. I remember him as a "gentle giant" who was very pleasant, kind, and always had time for small talk. I consider him to be one of the people in my life I have been blessed to know. My sincere sympathy to the Hochreiter family.

I was very sad to hear that Larry was gone. He was a wonderful mentor to me in my early years in LOCA land at Westinghouse. I cherish the memories of his depth of knowledge, his love to teach, and his great sense of humor. A great man and a great loss to the nuclear industry.

Our memories of Dr Hochreiter will always be treasured. Not only was he an outstanding teacher, but one who cared deeply about his students. Our son Mark was one to reap the rewards of his talents, influence and concerns. May he rest in peace and his memory be eternal.
