Barbara Bayer Obituary

BAYER - Barbara Ann (Wheeler) Age 69 of 4151 Alm Rd., Bemus Point, died at 9:50 a.m. Saturday (September 6, 2008) in the WCA Hospital. She was born in Buffalo, NY on February 13, 1939 the daughter of the late Arthur and Madge Ludwick Wheeler. Barbara attended Amherst High School and was a 1956 graduate of Williamsville High School. While living in Buffalo, she was employed at Key Bank as the head teller and trainer. She moved to Bemus Point in 1989 and was employed as a teller for the Jamestown Key Bank for twenty years, retiring in 1998 due to her illness. She was a communicant of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church and a member of the Lourdes Ladys and a member of the Jamestown Chapter of the Red Hat Society. She also enjoyed working with her hands and preserved memories for years to come through her Swedish weaving, crocheting, knitting and quilting. Barbara fought a courageous ten year battle with pancreatic cancer and will be sadly missed by her family and her many friends. She is survived by her loving and devoted husband Donald H. Bayer, whom she married on June 14, 1958 in the Most Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Cheektowaga. Barbara also leaves to cherish her memory, three loving daughters, Linda (Jeffrey) Greenauer, Cheektowaga, Janet Perry, Cary, N.C. and Sandra Borucki, West Chester, Pa.; seven grandchildren, Jerimy and Ian Borucki, West Chester, Pa., Garett and Jacob Greenauer, Cheektowaga, Jacquelin Perry, Boston, Mass., Travis Perry, Brownsville, Tx and Caroline Perry, Cary, N.C.; a sister Marilyn (the late Randall) Dillot, Palm Coast, Fl.; sister-in-law Cynthia (George) Cole, Clarence, NY; many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and acquaintances whose prayers and presence she cherished also survive. She was preceded in death by her father and mother-in-law Henry and Agnes (Heidinger) Bayer, brother and sister-in-law David and Peg Wheeler, sister-in-law and brother-in-law Marion and Herman Willhauck. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 20, 2008 in Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Bemus Point, NY. Friends will be received for one hour prior to the Mass. In Memory of Barbara, the family request donations e made to Hope Lodge, Elm & Carlton Sts., Buffalo 14263. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the HUBERT FUNERAL HOME, Jamestown, NY.
