John Laycock Obituary

LAYCOCK - John Frederick Age 87, of Leesburg, FL died Friday, September 5, 2008. He was born in Interlaken, NY and moved to Leesburg from Akron, NY in 1989. John retired as a heavy equipment operator for the State of NY after 37 years. He was in the US Army Air Corps during WWII and was a POW for one year in Germany during WWII. He was a member of St. Pauls Catholic Church. John is survived by his sons, Michael J. (Laurie) Laycock of Oakfield, NY, David J. (Nancy) Laycock of Cheektowaga, NY, Stephen J. (Lisa) Laycock of Centerville, OH; daughter, Catherine M. Bennett of Holly Springs, NC; grandchildren, Adam, Christina, John, Sandra, Brian, Andrea and Elizabeth; and brother, Frank Laycock of North Tonawanda, NY. He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Laycock in 2005; and eight brothers and sisters. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Pauls Catholic Church on Wednesday, September 10 at 8:30 AM with Father Gianni Agostinelli as Celebrant. Family will receive friends at Beyers Funeral Home Chapel, Leesburg, FL on Tuesday, September 9 from 6-8 PM. Interment will be at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell. For those who wish, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Pauls Catholic Church Building Fund, 1330 Sunshine Ave., Leesburg, FL 34748. Arrangements are entrusted to BEYERS FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, Leesburg, FL.
