My thoughts and prayers to the family.

To my "Boo", I Loved You. I still love you and I always will. I still cannot believe that I will never see you again. Won't be able to talk to you, hug you, anything. I miss you so much. I don't even know what else to say.

To the Hunter Family,
In the summer, I came into town and Darcel ran out of the restaurant to greet me and say hi. We had not seen each other in over a year. I always marvel when I run into people and feel it is a sign. It was so great to see him and I remember telling a friend that he was always so happy and loved life. What a great man I had the pleasure to know for 10 years of my career. I am so honored to have met him.

Dear Family,
My heartfelt sympathy goes out to the entire family in your time of sorrow. May your memories confort you and your family. I was so sad to hear about Darcel’s passing, actually me and my friend are in shock. He was a true blessing to everyone that came in contact with him, including myself. He always knew how to make me smile and he always had a positive outlook on life. He often helped me at Christmas time to sponsor a family that was less fortunate and had very little. He was a good man and he will be missed.

To the Hunter Family and Friends,

The Buffalo community has really lost a great youth advocate as well as a very good hearted individual. I met Darcel through my employment at Mid-Erie many years ago, as he helped me with our development of the Youth Advocacy Program. Darcel was always a very dedicated and committed person. It was a pleasure to work and know him.
I was so dishearten at the news of his sudden death which caught us by surprise.
My thoughts and prayers will continously be with each and every one of you.

September 29, 2008

To the Hunter family, my prayers are with you during this time. Darcel, was a beautiful and a happy person. I just found out that he is no longer with us. He will truly be miss. He always made me smile. Judy E.

My condolences to the Hunter family. Darcel will be truly missed. He was a one-of-a-kind individual that made everyone that he knew feel special. He had the best sense of humor, and always had the ability to make you smile. He was a great friend, I will never forget him.

To the Hunter family, my thoughts and prayers are with you. Darcel was a true professional who always put the kids first in all the years that I have known him. He did wonders with the resources he had. His abilities to work with all the people and different levels of bureaucracy always seem to pay off and always led to the same goal "kids first". Darcel was a great person, leader in the youth community, professional, gentleman, buddy, and friend. He will be missed by many.

To the Hunter family,
Darcel was a kind spirit who never lost sight of the most important things in life--other people, especially children. Darcel and I met over 10 years ago through his involvement on the BAPPS board and I have always felt better for having him known him. I will miss Darcel's presence at all our "crew" outings as well as his ever present smile and laughter. My deepest sympathies, thoughts and prayers are with you.

My deapest condolences are expressed to you all! I worked for Darcel for over a year (before moving to Virginia) and built a strong friendship and bond during that time that has continued for years! He always made a point to see me each time I came home to visit! Darcel touched many lives and was truly a remarkable person, his smile would light up a dark dreary room! Darcel was loved by many and of course myself!!!! He was always there for me in many ways. I will deeply miss him, he was amazing! Words can not describe my sorrow for losing such a great friend and an awesome boss (of course.)

In your time of grief my thoughts and prayers are with you. Your expectation is to have your children survive you. But, sometimes God has a greater plan beyond our expectation or understanding. My deepest sorrow goes out to the Hunter Family. Darcel had a passion for serving the children that will be greatly missed. He always had a smile about everything. He was one of the very first people to sit down with me and help guide me to the different resources to help our youth. He may not be here on the ground looking over our programs but I know he is above still looking over us. May God Bless the Hunter family like Darcel has blessed everyone he has ever come into contact with.

My deepest thoughts and prayers go out to the Hunter Family and to the friends of Darcel. I met Darcel when I went to work for the Youth Services Department. Darcel, you are my "Unforgettable", no one can never take your place, forever are the sweet memories to stay. Like Linda, I remember the spiders too; and all the laughter and fun in the office. You helped to make it a joyful place to work. I'm going to miss the projects, dinners, conferences that we worked on together. I'll miss meeting you out after work with the crew. If I had to choose my son-in-law, I would have chosen you, but...! Things will never ever be the same without you. Dear family, though our precious "Rock" has been called upon by our Heavenly Father, he will never be forgotten in our hearts. We all were blessed to have known him.

To the Hunter family,
I've had the privilege of working with Darcel for over six years through the Youth Board. There wasn't a time that he didn't have a broad smile or hearty laugh, even when the task was overwelming. His dedication to kids was second to none and I will miss the times we have shared as will many youth in our area. He will remain in my prayers. Rest well my friend, you've earned it.

It has been a blessing and joy to have known Darcel since College. His humbleness, humor and his love for the Lord was an inspiration to everyone who came into his presence. He also was an eternal optimst, always willing to focus on the postive. To the Hunter family, you are in my prayers and remember that our Savior is a constant source of strength and peace!

Dear Hunter Family,

I am extremely sorry for your loss. As you know Darcel was a great jovial and caring man. He cared alot about this community and helping others. I know whenever I saw him he brightened my day with his smile and big laugh. I'm going to miss seeing him around the neighborhood, he was a welcome fixture in the Elmwood Village. I too remember Darcel being so proud of his letters to the editor and I was proud of him too, very insightful man. I'm glad I got to know him.

I met Darcel many years ago when I worked for Native American Community Services, but I only really began to know him this summer, when, after seeing him around the city for years, we finally had the opportunity to talk at length. He said the nicest things about his parents, and his siblings. He talked about what mattered to him and about the letters to the editor he liked to write. That piqued my interest and I researched the letters. I was very impressed that he cared enough to publicly express his views. I was very sad to hear the news, and wish I would have had the chance to continue to know him. Even though I only reconnected with him recently, I will think of him and remember his spirit. He was very sweet to me. My sincerest sympathies to his family and close friends. I am terribly sorry for your loss.
