Richard Coulcher Obituary

COULCHER - Richard D. Dick 74, of Cassadaga died Sunday, October 5, 2008 peacefully in his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born on May 4, 1934 in Jamestown the son of the late George D. and Eva Reagle Coulcher. Dick was a 1952 graduate of Cassadaga Valley Central School. He received his degree in Accounting from Rider University in 1957, where he was a member of Delta Sigma Pi. He was awarded his CPA from the University of the State of New York in 1964. Dick served in the US Air force from May 29, 1957 and was called to active duty during the Cuban Missile Crisis receiving an Honorable discharge May 28, 1963. Dick was a manager with Ernst and Young in New York City and Buffalo, CFO of Servotronics, Inc. in Buffalo, and Sr. Vice President of Dunkirk Ice Cream, Co in Dunkirk until his retirement in 1993. He was a member of American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Financial Executives Institute and the New York Society of CPAs. He attended Hamburg Wesleyan Church, Cassadaga Community Baptist Church and Pleasant Valley United Methodist Church. Dick shared his love of scenic Cassadaga Lake through his photos sent to many by email. He will be long remembered for his generous spirit and hospitality. He was a loving husband of 50 years to Trudy A. Truesdale Coulcher, whom he married June 21, 1958; father of Tarry (Tim) Hahn of Stockton, Liz (Ben) Leutwyler of Denver, CO, Rich (Zoe) Coulcher, Jr. of Orlando, FL, and Janelle (Andrew) Coulcher-Hobbs of Cassadaga; grandfather of Abbi and Max Leutwyler of Denver, CO, and Hayden Coulcher-Hobbs of Cassadaga. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Cassadaga Community Baptist Church Food Pantry or the Cassadaga Branch Library. A celebration of Dicks life will be held on Saturday, October 11, 2008 at 11:00 AM at the American Legion Post 1280, 228 Maple Ave. in Cassadaga, NY. Arrangements by JORDAN FUNERAL HOME, Sinclairville.
