Thomas Norzyk Obituary

NORZYK - Thomas R. Batavia resident for 30 years died October 17, 2008 at Rochester General Hospital, Rochester, NY. Born March 18, 1935 in Hudson, PA, the son of late Stella Norczyk and Anthony Norczyk of Saddlebrook, NJ. Thomas served with the Air Force during the Korean War and is a retired Leroy Central School Teacher, also having taught in Alexander Central Schools. He held a 40 year accounting business in both Attica and Batavia and worked part time for many years at The Batavia Downs Race Track. Also known as Captain Tom of Big Dipper Charters for his 30 year fishing charter business on Canandaigua Lake and enjoyed being a member of St. Nicks Social Club. Survivors include his daughters, Cynthia Gentile of Albany, NY, Pamela Werner of Attica, NY; grandson, Wren Werner of Brooklyn, NY; granddaughter Rachel Gentile of Albany, NY; brothers, Raymond (Elaine) Norczyk of Saddlebrook, NJ, John (Billie) Norczyk of Palm Bay, FL and five nieces and nephews. A Memorial Mass will be at 9:30 AM Saturday at Resurrection Parish - St. Joseph Site, 303 E. Main St., Batavia. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Mercy Flight of Western New York, 100 Amherst Villa Rd,, Buffalo, NY 14225-1432. Arrangements by H.E. TURNER & CO. FUNERAL HOME OF BATAVIA.
