Adonis Dawkins Obituary

DAWKINS-Adonis (Don) October 4, 2007, of Buffalo, NY, born January 2, 1952 to James and Helen Dawkins, came to Buffalo in 1981 as a photojournalist for WGRZ-TV and WIVB-TV. Survived by his mother Helen (Smiley) Dawkins, father of Adonis Jr, Helen Genita; brother of James; Spiritual sister Shirley Robertson; grandchildren Adonna, Aaliyah and Diamond. Memorial service Friday October 19, 5:30 at First Shiloh Baptist Church, 15 Pine St, Buffalo, NY.

Don, I often wondered when you would show up for your yearly summer visit to Morgan Park and the old neighborhood. I looked for you every year. I thought you gave up on us when you stopped coming here. I didn't know the reason was that you had become so ill. I'm so sorry. You accomplished so much. Along with your friends and family in Buffalo, I'll miss you.
