Hi Herky,
I wish to extend heartfelt condolences to you and your family. It is at least 45 years since we have seen each other, though I remember such good times playing basketball at Davey Street playground and sharing pizza at the Knotted Bar. You were a great friend, and I have wondered over the years how you were. I lived on Gold Street, and graduated from School 43 with your cousin Joe Meier
in 1957. Joe's sister's name is Sharon, and she was quite the good looking girl that caught the eye of many of the guys. I remember you advising me that her Dad kept a pretty close watch on her and everyone else in her life. I don't recall if I saw you at all after you entered the Army. I know I had met your Mom and Dad, and that you and your Dad were hunters, accompanied by your beagle "Pancho."
After I graduated from college, I didn't live in Buffalo again. After living on Long Island for 32 years, my wife and I now live in Delray Beach, Florida eight months of the year, and Long Island the other four months. I'm guessing you are somewhere around 70 years of age. You are fortunate to have had your Mother for so many years. Please give my regards to Joe (we were teammates on the school (winning) softball team). I hope you are well, and I thank you again for having been such a good friend.
