Harriett Barton Obituary

BARTON-Harriett T. (Thomas) October 20, 2007; of Williamsville; beloved wife of 56 years to the late Robert Oliver Barton; dearest mother of the late Dianne Barton (David F.) Parker, and Robert Oliver (Susan S.) Barton Jr.; dear grandmother of Caroline Porter Parker, Barton Franklin Parker, David Franklin Parker Jr., all of Greensboro, North Carolina, and Andrew Porter Barton, Lacey Bradford Barton, Paige Elliott Barton all of Baltimore, Maryland; also survived by nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service will be held Tuesday, October 23, 2007 at 2 PM at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 724 Delaware Ave., Buffalo. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to The Ronald McDonald House, 780 West Ferry St., Buffalo, 14222. Mrs. Barton was born in Lyons, NY to William Edward Thomas and Leona Hasford Thomas, who operated on of NY State's largest fruit farms. Mrs. Barton was a graduate of Syracuse University. She was active in community affairs. Mrs. Barton was a member of Millard Fillmore Hospital Junior Board for many years. She was a longtime member of the Country Club of Buffalo where she was an avid golfer and tennis player. Harriett was a former member of the Garret Club.
