Tracey Wheeler Obituary

WHEELER-Tracey I. October 30, 2007 at age 45, of Manlius, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday at her home. Born in Buffalo, she graduated from Sisters of Charity Hospital in Buffalo as a registered nurse, specializing in the field of critical care, burn care, and emergency medicine. Tracey was an attentive, loving mother of two children, Haley, 14, and Jackson, 11. The center of her world were her family and friends, who she devoted the majority of her time. Tracey's hobbies included martial arts instruction, where she was co-owner of CNY Sasaki Kempo Karate and was a black belt. Tracey volunteered her time working with the Department of Health at free clinics. She also loved fitness activities, including working out at the YMCA in Fayetteville, rowing and running. Besides her children, she is survived by her beloved husband and friend of 18 1/2 years, Robert; her mother, Diane Patterson of E. Syracuse; three brothers, Thomas Patterson, Patrick (Susan) Patterson and Roger (Denise) Patterson; and a step brother, Peter (Carole) Patterson; two sisters, Diane (Bob) Millett and Dawn Patterson; a step sister, Donna (Hugh) Gale; her in-laws, Bob and Carol Wheeler of Whitesboro and sister-in-law, Susan (Bill) Ciancio of Clinton; her two retrievers, Roscoe and Keanu; and an abundance of nieces, nephews, cousins, and a large group of loving friends. She was predeceased by her father, Alfred "Pat' Patterson; a step sister, Roberta Kankiewicz and a nephew; Jon Patterson. Funeral Services, 10 AM Saturday at St. Ann's Church in Manlius. Private burial will be in Manlius Village Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Friday from 4-7 PM at NEWELL-FAY FUNERAL HOME, 8171 Cazenovia Rd. (Route 92), Manlius. For directions, local florists or a guestbook, please visit www.SCHEPPFAMILY.com. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Wheeler Children's Education Fund. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
