Dear Karen, Judy, Danny, Beth, Katie, Kiel, Gregory, Amie, Carrie, and Emily,
I'm so sad about your loss. I have the fondest memories of Mark -- he welcomed me into the family when Beth and I became friends in true big brother fashion -- he and Danny teased me without mercy. It was so wonderful seeing Mark and Karen be in love and then have such beautiful babies (and I still think of Katie, Kiel, and Greg as three of the cutest babies ever). Mark was a kind, gentle, and funny man, and the world is less without him.
Much love,
Tom Hall

Judy - it's been so many years & I was saddened to hear of your brother's untimely passing. I remember meeting him when we were visiting the Hartman's on Sunrise Blvd - the entire Gentry family was loving, genuine and happy. May the great memories you have of Mark see you & your family through the days ahead.

Karen, Kate, my dearest Kiel, Greg, Emily, Amie and Carrie:
While I have only been part of the family for a few short months, I was touched by Mark's humor. He was always positive and upbeat every time I saw him. I think that anybody who knew him was lucky to have him a part of their lives. I have been blessed to be in all of your lives. My thoughts and prayers are with you as always.
Love always,
Jina

Dear Mrs. Gentry (aka Mom #2), Kate, Kiel, Greg, Emily, Carrie and of course... my best friend Amie Lea:
I want you to know that I truly cherish the friendship that I have with Amie and more importantly your entire family. I love all of you with all my heart and I hope you know that I will be here during the difficult times now and to come. I have some of the coolest memories of your beloved husband/Dad. He was one of the most genuinely nice people that I have ever had the privilege of knowing. I loved hearing him laugh after I demonstrated one of my "Lindseyisms" at the house during dinner or while playing games. Haha great times! This last year and seven months, however, have been especially tough for all of you but I know that your Dad was so very grateful and up in heaven now, is most likely saying “Thank you dollies” and “Thank you boys”(or whatever he called the boys). Even though he became so sick he always looked so happy… because of his family. Mr. Gentry displayed so much love all the time not only for his kids but also infinitely for you Mrs. Gentry. The two of you have such a great bond that will remain with you forever and ever. Loss is always a struggle for the family but he is up in heaven enjoying the company of his brother Paul presumably fishing and/or hunting and looking down at his 6 amazing children and his beautiful wife so proud of each and every one of you. Stay strong!
Love Always,
Lindsey <3

My thoughts drift back to Sunrise Blvd. where we grew up. Mark was my very first friend on the street - how lucky I was. He was kind, generous and funny even then. My heart goes out to his family and friends at this time and in the days ahead.

Karen, Kate, Kiel Greg, Emily, Amie and Carrie,
I know the past year and a half has been a difficult time for you all. While I know this is not the outcome we all wanted, at least Mark is no longer suffering. I always loved his ability to look on the positive side. He was a wonderful example of a husband and father and I will remember that always. Though I am no longer a part of your family, please know that you are always in my heart and in my prayers.
with love

Karen, my sincere condolences to you and your family.
Think of all the special memories you have to hold on to. Karen, when I think of you and Mark, the first thought I have is your wedding day. You could see the love you both shared that snowy (wasn’t it a blizzard) day certainly overshadowed the weather. That was just the start of many years of blessings and memories you can hold close to your heart.
May God bless you and your family in this time of deep sorrow.
Your cousin,
Annie Newall

My deepest sympathy is with all of you, I knew Mark for years through work, I am a survivor, we would always compare "notes" about the ups and downs of treatment. I knew how tuff it was for him and I always told him to keep thinking positive. His wife and kids would come up in conversation, and he would always speak very highly of their support. I will miss him greatly!! Our World has suffered a Great Loss!!
