Claire Pierce Obituary

PIERCE-Claire F. Age 72, of Batavia, a toll collector with the New York State Thruway Authority in Batavia for 15 years prior to her retirement in the late 1980's, died Sunday, November 11, 2007 at United Memorial Medical Center in Batavia. Mrs. Pierce was born February 18, 1935 in Buffalo, the daughter of the late Oscar and Edith (Merrill) Berg. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Batavia and the Attica VFW Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed playing bingo and reading. Survivors include three sons, Martin (Regina) Tisdale of Angola, Christopher (Tammy) Pierce of West Brookville, NY and Jeffrey (Cindy) Pierce of Batavia; two daughters, Sheryl (Raymond) Demers and Rhonda (Denise) Lund, both of Batavia; 12 grandchildren, Jeanette Wilson of Florida, Vicki (Tom) Newton of Batavia, Ramie Demers of Vermont, Randy Demers of Batavia, Jessica Pierce of Batavia, Ashley Lund of Elba, Jennifer Pierce of Batavia, Arwen Tisdale of Angola, C.J. Pierce of West Brookville, NY, Adam Pierce of Batavia, Rebecca Lund of Elba and Crystal Pierce of Batavia; four great-grandchildren, Isaac Wilson and Tirza Wilson, both of Florida, Kortnie Demers and Kennedy Demers, both of Warsaw; an aunt, Harriet Nason of New Hampshire; and several cousins. Friends may attend services at 1 PM Tuesday at Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 601 North St., Batavia. Memorials may be made to the family. Arrangements by H.E. TURNER & CO.
