Jaelah Jenkins Obituary

JENKINS-Jaelah Yannis A 10-year old who did more living in the time she had than many do in a lifetime, passed away on November 11, 2007 after a long, tough fight with a brain tumor. Born the same day the stock market suffered a "mini crash" that shook the world, Jaelah took her family by storm with her presence. In her ten years she touched the lives of everyone around her by being an open, fun and magnetic spirit. Her parents, Yanick Jenkins and Terence Jenkins will feel a void in their lives with her passing. There was never a dull moment in their home after her birth. Her sister Saidhah Makhai Allen Jenkins will miss her little sister's bouncy spirit and her brother Noah Terence Jerod Jenkins will miss her teasing. She leaves her legacy in the hearts and minds of her large extended family and the friends, young and old, she made along her journey. A life celebration will take place on Friday, November 16, 2007 at 7:00 PM at the Elim Christian Fellowship Church. A private sunrise transition service will be held on Saturday, November 17, 2007 at the Whirlpool Park at Niagara Falls. Final arrangements are entrusted to THOMAS T. EDWARDS FUNERAL HOME, INC., 995 Genesee Street.

Dear Family,
I often sit and think of Jae. After some tears, come laughter and smiles. The images of her in the grease bottle, climbing on cabinets, and so and so forth- let us always talk about them so that we may never forget any of the wonderful, sometimes hysterical stories. She has changed our lives forever. And I am grateful to have had her in my life. I love you guys!

Dear Yanick, Terrance, and your wonderful family,
Buffalo is a former steelmaking town with an image that comes to mind with what you all of endured: to make steel, they heated up all of the elements till they were on fire, shaped them into a long block, and then plunged the product into ice-cold water. Annealing the steel made it stronger and able to be used to make the towering frames for our buildings and ships as well as cars and other things we use. From February through till the time she went back to Heaven, Jaelah and all of you were in the forge together. None of us will ever know all you have endured, but we were on the path at your side and we will never leave you. I hope that you feel that strength and that love. We learned it from Jesus, as you did, and from loving each other so very much. That tired little body was so dear, but now she is dancing and singing and smiling and making the angels laugh. There will not be another like her, but there is joy to know we all will be together someday.
Bless you and keep you.

Dear Yanick, Terrance and Family,

My deep and heartfelt condolences for the loss of Jaelah. I was tremendously grieved to hear of her transition; albeit, happy to know that her battle had come to a peaceful and triumphant end. May your heart, soul and spirit rest in knowing that although her body has departed from your presence, her love, spirit, memories and legacy will reside with you always.

As the days pass, may God continue to grant you a peace that passes ALL UNDERSTANDING, and may His love and comfort abide in every aspect of your living. Surely, Jaelah's condition was not unto death. . .it surely was unto the glory of God!

You are in my thoughts and prayers.

God's peace and tremendous blessing,

TJ--When I think of Jaelah, I just remember how your face would light up when you would share the many stories about her at work. Keep that twinkle in your eyes bright by continuing to share her antics, the fun times, the stories with everyone you meet.

I am so thankful to have shared time with Jaelah at the EOP offices. Her energy and curiosity made the day full of life and sparkles. I am especially grateful to have had the opportunity to create a little book with Jaelah for her mom's birthday last year and to have had the honor of introducing her to Wegman's chili. Thank you, Yanick and Terrence, for bringing Jaelah into our lives and sharing her so easily with everyone around you.
May peace in your hearts and minds enter your lives as you transition to loving Jaelah in a new way.
