I was wondering what happened to Bernie. I've been looking for her. I still have her books that she gave me. Bernie counseled my former husband who passed in 2015, and I. She changed my life forever. If not for her I would have never been healed from so much loss. I've tried finding her via internet and had no idea she passed in 2007. Good bless you all. I'm thankful that now I know where she is. Such a sweet woman.

To Gale,Paul,Herb and all the family of Bernie that I have had the pleasure to meet, I send my heartfelt sympathy.
I got to know Bernie through Gale, and out of that common interest in health & business our relationship became much more that that.
A beautiful family stemming from a beautiful woman , we have all been so touched in some way. We'll meet again some day ,Bernie

And Gale,you were so blessed to have her, I'm sure you know.
I was wonderful that He gave you those special times together before she passed on. I felt like I was there with you.
May the Lord comfort you now.

In life we all leave a legacy. Like a runner who passes a baton to the next runner to finish the race, Bernie not only passed the baton to a generation but also helped me see the race that I was to run and the truth I was to live for!

At 33 my life was over. I was an addict, a terrible husband and lousy father. Bernie took the time and counseled me and helped me to understand the truth. At 33 I entered into a relationship with my Lord and Savior. My life has never been the same. Thank you Bernie! I will miss you but treasure your unconditional love and your everlasting patience with me!

Thank you Paul and family for allowing her to be a differnce maker!

May God bless all of you and walk side by side with you as Bernie has walked with others.

I love all of you!

Gale, Kim, Meg, Herb and Todd;
Thank you for sharing your mom with me during her last days. You made me feel welcome in your home and allowed me to receive so much joy by allowing me to serve. Spending the night at her bedside reading to her from her favorite book, the Bible, was a treasured gift given to me by your family. You also allowed me the priviledge of calling her "mom". Even at the end of her life, you were still sharing your mother and in return blessing those who loved her so much! Words cannot express my gratitude.

Paul,
Thank you, also, for much of the same...for sharing your precious wife. You allowed Bernie to be all that God had intended for her to be. Her children "arise and called her blessed". She will be greatly missed. The legacy she leaves is one of the purest forms of love.

This is for the Schoenfeld & Gunderman family but also for anyone who may read this... may all of you know what kind of a Woman Bernie truly was! In a society where most people think only of themselves, Bernie gave in every way possible, not only to her family that she loved so dearly but to anyone on this earth that she could Bless! Because of Bernies selfless acts of love, I am a changed woman today! The things that Bernie poured into my life will last for generations to come! She was the greatest friend and Mentor anyone could ever ask for! I can only pray that myself and all of those who read this will stop and look at their own lives and ask themselves the question...what are we doing to make a difference in this world, and what lives can we touch, in similar ways that Bernie did? I know in my heart that Bernie heard, upon entering Heavens gates... "Well done, my Good and Faithful Servant"! Let us all ask ourselves,the question... What will we hear on that day that WILL come for all of us?
May God Bless all of you during this difficult time & know that my thoughts and Prayers are with you constantly!

Bernie exemplified grace in so many ways. She loved her family so deeply, and was gracious and loving to everyone who knew her. I remember one time she stopped everything she was doing to talk with me. It amazed me because there was so much that demanded her attention at the time. I learned so much from from her. One of the things is: the importance of prioritizing people ahead of the "things" that demand attention.
She didn't complain, had a beautiful smile, and freely gave love. Her life is a beautiful gift of loving others.

When I met Bernie, it was obvious where Gale developed her kind spirit and compassion for people; Bernie will be missed.

I have so many fond memories of Mrs. Gunderman growing up with her children. May the family's happy memories bring them comfort at this time. Mrs. Gunderman was truly an extraordinary woman, and I am thankful to have known her. I had some of my first responsibilities as a child outside of my family chores with Mrs. Gunderman....... baby sitting their dog, watering plants.....watering Gail's Jungle of Plants while she was on vacation...The trust Mrs. Gunderman put in me as a child will always be remembered. Having Todd in most of my grade school classes from Kindergarden brought Mrs. Gunderman into my life, and I feel very fortunate to have grown up with this family and Mrs. Gunderman. May God Bless the Schoenfeld and Gunderman family, and my Thoughts and Prayers are with you all.

We shed a tear in remembrance, remembrance of a friend.
And we rejoice at the welcoming,
That Bernie received, as the gates, for her were opened,
And all the angels, did sing, as she approached the Door... the Door, of heaven.
Her eyes were wide open
And her face all aglow,
For at last, she would meet Him;
The one she so longed for...the one, her heart, did intimately know.
No more does she struggle.
No pain does she know.
For she is home, with her Savior,
And for now, we let go.
