Elizabeth Risk Obituary

Mrs. Elizabeth Ann Risk, 96 years, of Nipigon, Ontario passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 10, 2009 in Dawson Court Home for the Aged, Thunder Bay, Ontario with her family by her side. Elizabeth was a life member of the Catholic Women's League and an auxiliary member of the Legion of Mary. She enjoyed gardening, fishing, hunting, camping, blueberry picking and bowling (even as a senior). Elizabeth was a very good pianist and liked to draw, crochet and bake. Predeceased by her husband William "Paddy" Risk (1993), by her daughter Sylvia (Sibby) Nachuk (2006), her son-in-law Vernal Johnson (1994), her parents - Mae and James Drouillard and her sister Adelaide Bain; she is survived by five children - Vianna (& Joseph) Tookenay, Gibson (& Jeanette) Risk and Patricia (& Ken) Legacy all of Nipigon, Maureena Johnson and Jolene (& Don) Johnston both of Thunder Bay, by son-in-law Tom Nachuk of Nipigon, by twelve grandchildren - Brent (& Tina) Tookenay, Roger Tookenay, Tommy Joe Nachuk, Master Corporal Billy Joe Nachuk, Rachel (& James) Adduno, Stacey Risk, Lora (& Kevin) Ronak, Milan Spoljarich, Chris Spoljarich, Rhonda Legacy, Kenneth (& Cindy) Legacy, Lorrinda Legacy, by ten great grandchildren - Annastasia, Jacob, Tanya and Ian Tookenay, Caitlyn, Jaedyn and Cameron Harvey, Kylie Dickson, Evan Adduno and Isabella Legacy, by one great great grandson Owen Laframboise and by her nephew Narcisse (& Gail) Bain of Lake Helen Reserve. Resting at the Elliott Funeral Home Ltd. , Nipigon where friends may call from 5:30 P.M. until 9 P.M. on Tuesday, January 13, 2009. Prayers will be offered at the funeral home on Tuesday evening at 7:30 P.M. A celebration of the life of Elizabeth Risk will be held on Wednesday, January 14, 2009 at 11 A.M. with the Mass of the Resurrection at the Church of the Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin, Nipigon with the Rev. Fr. Milton McWatch officiating. Interment will follow in Cliffside Cemetery, Nipigon. Friends so wishing may make donations to the charity of their choice or to the Church of the Annunciation's Memorial Building Renewal Fund."
