Gwen Pauline "Pete" Hardy, 58 years, of Biinjitiwaabik Zaaging Anishinaabek, Ontario passed away peacefully at her residence on Tuesday, September 11, 2012, surrounded by her family. In loving memory of the best, craziest, outspoken person a friend could ever have. Gwen doesn't want us to be saddened with her taking angel wings. She wants us to remember the beautiful person she was and is. In Spirit, she is free of all of her pain and is now an angel, always watching over us, day by day. Pete will be remembered for her love and her crazy laughter. She touched many lives in many different ways, from family dinners, to playing cards, to dancing and especially to her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She had a big heart and lived a good adventurous life with her hard working hands to survive as days went by. Gwen - Pete - Mom was a great daughter, mother, wife, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend but now her spirit lives on in the hearts of her loved ones. Until we meet again our Angel Friend. Predeceased by her father Donald Nelson, her mother and step-father - Esther and Wilfred Louis, sisters - Gail Morriseau, Gertrude Onakanakis and two in infancy, her daughter Eunice (Churchill) Kasprick and by two grandsons - Raymond Kasprick-Louis and Jordan Hardy; she is survived by her children - Peggy Lynch (& Frank "Tunny" Hardy) and Geoffrey "Elmer" Lynch and their father Sylvanus Onakanakis, grandson Jason Hardy (& Amber Paquette) and great granddaughters - Tymara and Mylie Hardy all of Biinjitiwaabik Zaaging Anishinaabek, her brother Donald Lynch of B.Z.A., her two sisters - Eleanor Danio and Donna Poile both of Thunder Bay, Ontario, a special niece Stacey Morriseau and her goddaughters - Anna McCrady, Kayla Thompson and Michelle Esquega.According to Gwen's wishes cremation has taken place.Friends may call at her home, 218 Beamish Street, B.Z.A. after 2 P.M. on Thursday, September 13, 2012.The funeral service will be held at her residence on Friday, September 14, 2012 at 1 P.M. with Father A. Abadines officiating. Interment of cremains will be in the Biinjitiwaabik Zaaging Anishinaabek cemetery. Arrangements are in the care of Elliott Funeral Home Ltd., Nipigon. "
