Inez Evelyn DePiero

After living a full and happy life, loved by everyone, our beloved mother, nonna and nonna-bisa, Inez Evelyn DePiero, peacefully passed away in hospital with family by her side, at 96 years old. Inez was born in Guelph, Ontario to loving parents, Maria and Edo Tanchioni. They made the move to Fort William in the mid 1920's where Inez grew up in Westfort, and eventually met her husband of 64 years, Anthony “Tony” DePiero. They were married September 23, 1939. Inez was a long-standing member of the Ladies Venet Society, the Catholic Women's League and St. Elizabeth Parish. She loved to cook, bake and entertain for her numerous friends and family. She also enjoyed the odd casino run. Family was more important than anything to Inez. She was a loving, dedicated wife and mother, and will be sadly missed by her sons, Rodney, Tom (Sandy) and Guy (Shanley), 7 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, Larry and Bonnie Simonato, and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. She is predeceased by her parents, Maria and Edo Tanchioni, her husband, Tony, her siblings, Bruno, Tina, Linda and Lila, and her daughters-in-law, Fran, Sharon (nee Slater), Mary Lou and Sharon (nee O'Brien). A Funeral will be held at St. Elizabeth's Church (766 Sprague St.) on Friday, December 29th at 11:00 AM. If friends so desire, in lieu of flowers please send a donation to the Heart & Stroke Foundation, or charity of choice on Inez's behalf. The family would like to thank Inez's family physician, Dr. Addison, and the staffs at Sister Leila Greco, St. Joseph's Care Group and TBRHSC, for the dedicated care and support they provided to our dear Inez.

Inez DePiero will be remembered in the Blake Funeral Chapel Memorial Grove. Annual dedication service Sunday, June 10, 2018.
