Peter Herbert Stangier

1930 - 2006 Mr. Peter Herbert Stangier, age 75 years, passed away peacefully at his home in Murillo on Friday, March 10, 2006. Herbert was born on the family farm in Mittelhof, Germany in 1930 and was a Master Baker. In 1983 he came to Murillo where he established Murillo Bakery with his wife Ingeborg. His favourite pastime was tending to the trees around his home, most of which he planted himself. Herbert is survived by his wife of 43 years, Ingeborg; his son Herbert (Helga) and grandchildren Anna, Christian, Martin and Sandra; daughter Stefanie; son Dominik; brothers: Josef and Wilhelm, as well as numerous other relatives. He was predeceased by parents Peter and Therese and his brothers: Albert and Martin. Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, March 14, 2006 when family and friends may gather at Noon in St. Augustine's Roman Catholic Church on Townline Road, celebrated by Fr. Henryk Augustynowicz. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Vigil Prayers will be offered on Monday evening at 7:30 p.m. in St. Augustine's R.C. Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Peter to the Northern Cancer Research Foundation or to the charity of your choice, would be greatly appreciated.
