WILLIAM BRUCE Obituary
William Erwyn Bruce (b. May 13th, 1938) passed away unexpectedly Wednesday December 20th, 2023, at Thunder Bay Regional Hospital.
Dad lived a life with few regrets. Although we mourn his passing, we celebrate a life well shared and well lived. He was always happiest when spending time with family, friends, teammates, and work colleagues.
Dad is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Violet. Sons Greg and Jason (Aimee and Elliott), granddaughters Grace and Lauren Bruce, daughter-in-law Susie Bruce, Brother-in-law Lorne Baxendale, sister-in-law Jaquie Bruce, nieces Cathy Martyn, Christine Morrill and Joanne Palaniuk, nephews Blair Thivierge & Robert Bruce. He was predeceased by his parents Bill and Eulah Bruce, Brother John Darwyn Bruce and nephew Kerry Bruce, Sisters-in-law Rose Baxendale and Lil Thivierge, and Brother-in-law Don Thivierge.
Dad and Mom enjoyed their time volunteering at Grace Place soup kitchen, serving the needs of Thunder Bay's most vulnerable residents. In lieu of flowers, donations to graceplacethunderbay.com would be appreciated.
A private family gathering will be held next week; with a celebration of life event for family and friends to get together and reminisce Saturday, May 11th, 2024, 11am at the Kakabeka Legion Branch 225.

Knew Erwin and Vi because they were a team dedicated to improving their community in any way they could and many times that meant being out to support local teams or events. In fact the last place I saw them was out supporting our Women´s World Baseball qualifier this past summer. We sat at a picnic table together. He hung in as long as he could as he had just been released from the hospital a few days before. Condolences to Vi and family on the passing of such a great partner.
