CAROLUS SOUMANG Obituary
October 7, 1938 - February 1, 2018
After a brief struggle with pancreatic cancer, Chuck Soumang passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 1, 2018 at Shorncliffe with family by his side.
Chuck is predeceased by his brother Frank, his brother Bill, and his sister Johanna. He is survived by his children James Soumang (Brittany), Jason Soumang (Diane), Angela Soumang (Keith) and Robert Soumang; stepson Paul Laurence (Marketta); his step-grandchildren Jesse, Michael, Paige and Brooklyn; his sister Wilma, brother John; and many nieces and nephews.
Chuck was born in Rotterdam Holland in 1938. He immigrated to Canada with his parents and siblings in 1956 at the age of 18. Chuck settled in Gibsons and raised his family on the Sunshine Coast.
Chuck was an employee of Howe Sound Pulp and Paper for over 25 years. He took an early retirement at age 61.
A celebration of life will be held at Devlin Funeral Home on Friday, February 9 at 11:30 am.
Chuck will be missed and not forgotten.
