Mary McSweeney Obituary
Passed away peacefully at Joseph Brant Hospital, Burlington, on Monday, November 29, 2021, age 80, with family at her side. Loving wife of Peter for 49 happy years, loving mother to Caroline (Matthew) Duffney, Martin (Hai), and Tracey (Mark). Granny and best friend to Emily, who absolutely adored Granny.
Loving sister of Bridie, Tom, and Michael. Predeceased by her parents, brother John, and sister Helen. Fondly missed by her many nieces and nephews.
Born in Ireland, Mary graduated as a nurse in Birmingham, England, and came to Canada with her husband in 1972.
Visitation at Smith's Funeral Home, 1167 Guelph Line (one stop light north of QEW), Burlington (905-632-3333), on Friday, December 10 from 3-5pm and 7-9pm. Proof of full vaccination is required. Funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Gabriel's Roman Catholic Church, 2261 Parkway Drive, Burlington, on Saturday December 11 at 10:30am. Interment at Burlington Memorial Gardens, 3353 Guelph Line, Burlington. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Burlington Food Bank would be appreciated by family.
