Lois EVANS Obituary

EVANS, Lois Evelyn (nee Pegg) Lois passed away peacefully in hospital, Smiths Falls on Wednesday, June 19, 2019 at the age of 90. Cherished and much-loved mother to David (Ellie) Evans of Carleton Place, Nancy (Hugh) Bennett of Smiths Falls and Laurie (Greg) Banks of Cincinnati, Ohio. Predeceased by her former husband Melvin Evans and infant children Bonnie and Dale as well as her parents Norman and Myrtle (Lawson) Pegg. Treasured Grannie to Brianne, Lisa and Brett Evans, Kaitlin Bennett and Adam, Christopher and Annie Banks. Great-Grannie to Gwyneth, Cadence, Zachary, Landon and Noah. Loved sister to Douglas (the late Julia) Pegg and Eunice (the late Harris) Gibson and sister-in-law to the late Ethel (the late Grenville) Moffitt. Fondly remembered by numerous cousins, extended family and friends. ""When a central figure like Lois is gone, it changes everything, like the ground shifting beneath you in an earthquake. She was a force of nature, headstrong but kind, tiny but mighty. We will miss her."" Visitation has taken place at the Blair & Son Funeral Home, 112 Beckwith Street North, Smiths Falls, on Wednesday, June 26, 2019 from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. A private graveside service was held at Lombardy Union Cemetery. In memory of Lois, contributions to St. John's Anglican Church or Diabetes Canada would be appreciated.
