Mom slipped away peacefully at Ridgeview Lodge, Kamloops, BC on July 6, 2010 to join the ?light of her life - Roy? who predeceased her in June, 1993.
Mom was born in Edinburgh, Scotland and married during WW II in Banchory, Scotland. Mom and baby son (Ian) came to Canada on a War bride Ship landing at Pier 21 in Halifax, Nova Scotia in 1944. After enduring a long train trip across Canada they settled in Kamloops, BC. Dad and Mom lived in many areas of BC and eventually settled back in Kamloops until dad?s passing in 1993. After a ?short stay? in Vernon, BC mom moved to her ?forever home? at Ridgeview Lodge. When dad and mom sold their Insurance Business they spent many happy and wonderful years as ? Canadian Snowbirds? enjoying their winter friends in Yuma, Arizona. Mom / Grandma is survived by her two sons, Ian (Arlene), Colin (Laurie) and three daughters, Nina (Ken), Wendy (Don) and Linda (Dale). She also had many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Mom will always be remembered for her sharp mind and quick wit. Her final stay at Ridgeview Lodge will always be held very dear to her family and we are so comforted by the care she received. Special ?thank you? to Dana and your whole team of very loving and caring staff? we were so privileged to have mom there. We are also very grateful to Dr. Hamilton and just love all of you. God wrap your arms around her and please keep her in your care.
