LEMM, William George Douglas: 1937 - 2023 William George Douglas Lemm passed away suddenly while surrounded by family at Penticton Regional Hospital on Thursday, May 25th, 2023. Bill was born on January 17th, 1937 and moved to Penticton in the late 1940s and has been here ever since. He worked for the City of Penticton as a mechanic and then became a Firefighter and later a Deputy Fire Chief before retiring in 1994. Bill was also an avid participant in most sports all of his life which included rowing, tennis, baseball, fishing, camping, sailing, bike riding, boating, water skiing and rollerblading. Skiing however was his passion. He was a lifelong skier, Host, Instructor and Ski Patroller and could be found on Apex from the day it opened until 2021 at the age of 84. He was also a volunteer Coach / Bus Driver / Ski Parent to a number of adopted Apex ski racers. Bill was also a Lifetime member of the Penticton Yacht Club. Bill is predeceased by his wife Loretta, father William and mother Mary. He is survived by his children William (Willy), Jacki / Richard Stabb, Kristine (Kris); grandchildren Riannon / Mariah Stabb, Tyler Barkanyi; brother Robert (Bob) and many more extended family. He loved us all deeply and we loved him so very much and will miss him. Join us for a Celebration of his Life on Saturday, June 17th, 2023 from 1:00 pm 3:00 pm at Lakeside Resort, 21 Lakeshore Drive West, Penticton, BC. Uncle Bill, you never failed to have a great smile and a kind heart towards me and everyone else. So many memories of us all playing together in the mud in our back yard in the summers. You always excelled at everything you tried, including being a great dad. Missing you love Dawn Frankland

Bill left a lasting impression on whomever he met! He had a HEART of GOLD! A considerate man who was very kind, generous, noble, adventurous, joyous, passionate, and enthusiastic about life.
We would sit on his deck and converse about sports, the state of politics, sailing, scuba diving, and flying, which we both had in common, his Cocker Spaniel dog, stories about his wife and kids/grandkids, and his traveling adventures.
He loved his career with the Penticton Fire Department and was so proud of his accomplishments. He sure enjoyed the people he worked with.
Bill was always ready and willing to lend a hand to help his fellow neighbor at the Park or the Condo Association.
I remember heading over to chat, and he was busy putting on his rollerblades after just returning from bicycling the trail.
People are PRECIOUS and Bill was a GEM! I am going to miss our gatherings and our lengthy chats.
May he rest in peace and soar with the angels.

We are so sorry to hear of Bill's passing , Dale and I spent many hours with Bill at Apex , Hosting and just free skiing and I used to stop and visit with Bill and Loretta while walking our dogs down at the lake . We will miss him.
