Gordon Barber Obituary

BARBER, Gordon Richard February 11, 1952 October 3, 2011 After a lengthy battle with kidney disease, Gordy passed away in hospital in Nanaimo, after suffering a massive stroke. Born and raised in Prince George, he lived wherever the road took him. Favourites included Masset, Port Edward, Terrace and, most recently, Port Alberni. He was predeceased by his younger brother Earl Barber in 1983. Left behind to mourn are: Gordy's mom Eileen Gabrielson; sister Diane; son Jonathan Woodcock; daughter Jodi Beaulieu; grandchildren Richard, Freddie and Jacob; numerous relatives; and many close friends. Gordy valued and cherished his friendships, embraced a spirit of adventure and was a tough guy with a soft heart who always had your back. Thanks to everyone who helped him out, and especially to his cousin Lorne Boudreau, his niece Kateri Deutsch and her girls Grace and Samantha for making Gordy's last days happy ones. In honour of Gordy, there will be a gathering on Friday October 14 at 3:30pm in the Croatian Hall at 8790 Old Cariboo Highway, Prince George, BC. Condolences in care of Assman's Funeral Chapel in Prince George. "Where there are friends, there is wealth" -Titus Maccius Plautus

I send your family my condolences during your time of grief
May God bless your souls,
You may be wondering why did he have to go
But only God and Heaven knows
When the day comes you'll see him at the crossroads
But until that day
Just know God works in mysterious ways
