Ivan ERICKSON

ERICKSON, Ivan February 27, 1926 - August 23, 2015 Ivan passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family at the age of 89 years. He is predeceased by his wife Norma and sisters Margaret, Wilma and Verna. He is survived by his loving family; children Murray, Gayle (Lawrence Fabbro), Janice; "Gramps" will be especially missed by his grandchildren Melissa and Spencer; brother Orville, sisters Audrey (Howard) Toop, Thelma (Les) Matheson, Carole Hyra; and longtime loving companion and dance partner Joan Basic, as well as many nieces and nephews. Ivan was a World War II Veteran and a talented carpenter and craftsman. He leaves behind a legacy of work on many local Vancouver landmarks. Ivan will be remembered for his strong work ethic, his unique sense of humour and his love of music and dancing. Until his final days he was never without a project and Home Depot will miss him almost as much as we will. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to BC Children's Hospital.
