Frank DESTEFANO Obituary

DeSTEFANO, Frank It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Frank DeStefano on Friday, December 7, 2018. He went peacefully at the age of 78, surrounded by his loving wife Francesca of 49 years, children Dina Fortino (Gino), and David (Valerie). He will also be deeply missed by his grandsons who were his pride and joy Evan, Mario and Daniel. Frank will now be joyfully reunited with his parents Fiora Toteda and Antonio DeStefano, his grandparents, brother Giuseppe, in-laws Salvatore and Antonia Lagrotteria and beloved brothers-in-law Antonio and Domenic Lagrotteria. He will be dearly missed by his sisters-in-law Mary, Anne, Sylvana and brother-in-law Lino Lagrotteria (Leda). Frank also has many nieces and nephews in Argentina and Canada who will fondly remember him Paolo Lagrotteria (Sheryl), Danny Lagrotteria (Mary-Rose), Mario Lagrotteria (Paula), David Lagrotteria (Melanie), Eric Sabatini (Lindsay), Amanda Sabatini, Alisa, Adriana, Andrew Lagrotteria, Maria Alexandria and Fabiano DeStefano. He is also survived by many great nieces and nephews. Frank will be forever remembered for his unique ability to tell a story, his contagious laughter and ability to make people smile. He worked as a tailor in St. Catharines and made several friends throughout the years. He loved being with his family and never complained about his circumstances. In his younger years, Frank enjoyed socializing with friends at the Italian Cafe, travelling, and watching the Montreal Canadians. He had many fond memories of growing up in Italy and his life in Rouyn-Noranda, Quebec. Twenty-two years ago he told us his patron San Francesco Di Paola told him it wasn't his time yet and by a miracle we were blessed to have him with us until the age of 78. A special thank you to Garden City Manor, especially nurse Danielle and Dr. Wan, for their exceptional care over the past four years. The family will receive visitors at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL HOME , 585 Carlton Street, St. Catharines on Sunday, December 9th from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Vigil Prayers will take place at 3 p.m. in the funeral home. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Alfred's Church, 272 Vine Street, St. Catharines on Monday, December 10th at 11 a.m. Entombment at Pleasantview Memorial Gardens to follow. If so desired in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Ontario March of Dimes, Brain Injury Association or Garden City Manor. On-Line Guest Book - www.georgedartefuneralhome.com
