Gary SPERO

It is with heavy hearts that the family sadly announce the passing of Gary Spero on September 16, 2022 in his 80th year surrounded by his family. Predeceased by his wife of 43 years, Donna (2007) and daughter Patricia (1996). He will be sadly missed by his partner Marisa Castonguay. Survived by his children: Brian (Janette), Michelle (Randy), Pamela and Gary Jr. Also leaves behind cherished grandchildren: Angela, Brock, (Sarah), Crystal (Milo), Liam, Mariah and Mickayla; great-grandchildren: Brinn, Carter, Kaethan, Rheegan, Brigid, Imogen and Beckett; survived by many nieces and nephews. Gary worked 50-plus years with Covello Brothers and Rankin Construction and belonged to Local 793 International Operating Engineers Union. In keeping with Gary's wishes, funeral arrangements have been entrusted with GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL HOME, 585 Carlton St., St. Catharines. Cremation has taken place, the family wish to invite guests for an evening visitation on Thursday, September 22, 2022 from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. with a Celebration of Life to be held the following day, September 23, 2022 at 11:00 a.m., doors to be open for guests at 10:00 a.m. A reception will take place in the Kristen French Fellowship Hall located at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Diabetes Canada and The Kidney Foundation of Canada. The family gives special thanks to Niagara Gardens and 3B NHS - St. Catharines for their specialized care and compassion, as well as Local 793 International Operating Engineers Union.
