BETTY HELEN MACGREGOR June 16, 1921 - November 9, 2020 Of Etobicoke, in her 100th year, the eldest daughter of Alma H. (Gee) and Charles Edward Bernard Corbould, born June 16, 1921, in Kamloops, B.C., died suddenly at St. Joseph's Hospital Emergency, Toronto, Monday evening, November 9, 2020. Predeceased by her husbands, James E. (Jim) Morrison (1945-1973) and Colin C. MacGregor (1983-2002), her sister, Norah Klett (Inky) and stepson, Dr. David C. MacGregor. Survived by twin sisters Joan Sanderson of Coquitlam BC, Margie Francis (Cy) of Coquitlam, BC, Pat Hasselfelt (Gordon) of Barrie, ON and brother Brian Corbould (Barbara) of Port Coquitlam, BC as well as stepdaughter, Nancy E. MacGregor of Naples, FL, granddaughter, Dr. Jennifer MacGregor Schafer (Josh, great-grandchildren Campbell, Morgan, Liam of London UK) and grandson, Bruce C. MacGregor of Milwaukee, WI. Betty is also the most remarkable aunt for 20 Corbould nephews and nieces from Saint John, NB, to Vancouver, BC. Betty earned a B.A. (UBC 1942), and a teaching certificate at the University of Toronto. She worked at Alcan (Montréal) and the University of Toronto before becoming a favourite teacher of commercial subjects at Royal York Collegiate (1961-1976) and Richview Collegiate (1978-1984) of Toronto as well as at Kenyatta College, University of Nairobi in Kenya (1976-1978). She was amongst the longest-serving members of St. George's Golf & Country Club, a longtime member at Islington United Church, past-President of the University Women's Club-Etobicoke as well as longtime volunteer for Meals on Wheels and Sleeping Children Around the World (SCAW). A world traveller to over 170 countries/7 continents including a month-long flying trip around the northern hemisphere at age 80. Always prim, proper, energetic and fun-loving, Betty was known by students, then family, as the 'Road Runner' which is more than a reference to her driving. Special thanks to the Emergency Room staff at St. Joseph's and to her longtime helpers, Gloria Nichol and Gael Hepworth. The funeral will be held at Islington United Church on Saturday, December 5, at 1:00 p.m. EST. Due to Covid, in-person attendance by invitation only, with virtual access provided via the following link www.islingtonunited.org/ . It is hoped that there can be a celebration of life in mid-June for what would have been her 100th birthday. No flowers, please. Donations to a charity of your choice if you wish.

I met Betty in 2006 on a trip to Argentina and Antarctica. She was an amazing women. Traveling half way across the world in her 79th year by herself. She was an inspiration to all us "younger" travelers. RIP.

We are deeply saddened of Aunt Betty’s sudden passing. Even though she was 99 years old, she looked and acted like a 70 year old. She was a very energetic person than ran or walked two miles every day and did this almost up until her passing. We will miss the ”Road Runner.” She was a compassionate soul always trying to help others. Rest In Peace Aunt Betty. You will always be in our hearts.
Lots of love,
Sherry, John & Henrik , Aurora, ON

Dear Barry Klett, and all other family members. My deepest sympathy on the passing of Betty Helen MacGregor. She was a true lady! Betty was always at Islington United Church, unless on her world travels, previous engagements or filled social calendar. She sat in the balcony along Carolyn Graham, dressed in hat, matching gloves, purse and shoes. That's where our friendship began. Betty was stubborn, strong willed, but generous with her time and kind. She will be missed!! Psalms 23:6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life; and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.
1 Cor. 13:13 And now abideth faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love.
Rest In Peace! Virtual hugs and prayers, Pia Machado

Will always remember Betty for her energy in all her endeavours. Our paths crossed through teaching, church and university club memberships. Such a lovely picture to remember her by with her red hat.

Please accept my condolences on the death of Betty.
Betty was a colleague of mine at Royal York Collegiate. My memories are of an always smiling and ready to engage face. She was filled with such energy and spirit that carried you along.
During the Teachers' strike in 1975, her home just north of the school was a central station for all of us. We were able to take a break from walking outside in the cold to have a coffee etc and socialize with each other. Betty made us feel so welcome and at home. I have very fond memories of being with the staff at her place.
My memories include seeing her in her convertible(big long car) top down, of course and thinking that convertibles weren't just for the young.
I will always be grateful for the fun way she lived her life.
Sincerely, Mary T. Goodwin

Betty worked for my father Joe Evans in the Registrar's office at UofT in the 1950's or 60's. Her co-worker, also Betty, were well regarded. Betty also volunteered with Sleeping Children Around the World as a donor, traveller and editor for Murray Dryden. My condolences to the family.

Betty was just a non-stop bundle of joy while I was on the staff at Richview CI. I fondly remember her driving up to the outdoor education program in her sleek convertible. RIP Betty.
