CORNELIS VAN GROLL Obituary

CORNELIS (Cees) van GROLL November 25, 1937 - October 4, 2022 Cees passed away peacefully in the early evening of October 4. He is survived by his two brothers, Theo and Frits. Cees and Anita came to Canada in 1959 and brought with them tremendous style and joie de vivre. Together they created a life for themselves and their children, Elroy and Raymond. Cees worked with great flair in Architecture, but his passions were jazz, photography and painting. He and Anita were founding members of the Arts on Main Street Gallery in Picton. He was also the post dinner MAESTRO for countless musical evenings at the house in Cherry Valley. He will be missed by Anita, sons Elroy (Sandy), Raymond (Calay), grandchildren Laura, Paloma, Camille, Nancy and Jonathan. And, of course, all his wonderful friends. The family wish to thank all the caregivers at North York General Hospital, and particularly Dr. Yu and the Palliative Care team for taking such good care of Cees. In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Palliative Care Unit of North York General Hospital would be greatly appreciated. A celebration of life will be announced at a later date.

Dayna shared some lovely photos taken last summer, telling us that Cec was 'positive to the end." I´m not surprised. His paintings were always full of "sunshine." You must be sad, Anita. Please accept my heartfelt sympathy.
