DOHERTY, Eva Mary (Coleen) nee Kennedy
Born Gort, Co. Galway, Ireland. Died peacefully, surrounded by her loving children and grandchildren, Tuesday, July 28, 1998. Graduated as a nurse from the Royal Free Hospital, London, England. Served with the R.A.M.C. Far East Command World War II. Member of Q.A.I.M.N.S.(R.) Adventurous in life and love, for 53 years she was a loyal friend, companion and cherished wife of Dr. Christopher J. Doherty, Toronto. Chris and Coleen lived in India, Ireland, Wales, Sudbury, Sault Ste. Marie and Toronto. Mother of Mary (Frank Metcalf) of Vancouver, Michael (Lois) of Saskatoon, Janice, Sheila (Raymond Morrell), John (Pam Hyde), Nuala (John Grant) of Toronto. Beloved grandmother to Christopher, Suzanne, Stratis, Eva, Sinead, Sean and Christina. Survived by her sisters Mrs. Gracie Sloan of Burlington and Mrs. Nina Carty of Dublin, Ireland. Friends may call at the Rosar-Morrison Funeral Home, 467 Sherbourne Street (south of Wellesley St.) Toronto on Thursday from 5:30-8:30 p.m. Funeral Mass at the family home, 53 Castle Frank Road, Toronto on Friday, July 31, 1998 at 4:00 p.m. Committal service Mount Pleasant Chapel. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Covenant House. Her joy of life lives on and shines in each one of us.
