In WWII Paul served in France and Italy and later remained in contact with his comrades. He attended medical school at the University of Toronto (1950), received ENT training at the Mayo Clinic, and began his practice in 1956. He was invited to start an ENT department at McMaster Medical School in 1982. The boundless curiosity and intellectual agility so enjoyed by his family also ensured the health of his many patients over a rewarding career. He retired in 1992.
Sailing was a passion of Paul's. Fine windy days were spent with friends and family on the harbor and at Lake Joseph, beloved by first wife Margaret. Since retirement, Paul studied and designed sundials and was an active member of the N. Am. Sundial Society. Golf was enjoyed with friends and grandson John.
Paul and second wife Janis were regular visitors to the broods of grandchildren. His deep concern for the well-being of those around him was profound.
We would like to thank the medical staff of the Oncology Unit on C3 at Juravinski for the exceptional care and professional respect that they extended to Paul and the support they provided to his family.
