Tony MAGRI Obituary



(JANUARY 7, 1966 ­ MARCH 13, 2010) TONY ANDREW MAGRI Passed away with dignity, surrounded by his wife, children and family after a courageous seven month battle with cancer at Trillium Health Centre. God mercifully spared Tony from further pain and suffering. Beloved husband of Antoinette Scrocco and devoted and loving father to Victoria (Bunny) and Alexander (Alley Cat) and his guard dog Charlie. He will be lovingly remembered by his mother Carmela Magri and his late father Andrea Magri and his mother-in-law Lucia Scrocco and the late Pasquale Scrocco. Tony is survived by his brothers Frank (Mary) and Robert (Sonja), sister-in-law Maria (Nick), and brother-in-law Joe. He was adored by his nieces and nephews, Andrew, Danielle, Eric, Eva, Marcus, Leo and Patrick. He will be greatly missed by his entire extended families and many friends. All of us will remember his great thirst for life and the great enjoyment that he found in travelling around the world, savouring fine wines and good food as well as playing golf and hockey with his long time friends. His extensive knowledge and love of music and his passion for playing the piano will resonate in the Magri home forever. The family would like to express their sincere thanks to Dr. Kwan and the nursing staff in the Trillium Oncology and Coronary units for the ongoing care and support they provided. Antoinette is also deeply touched and grateful to McLean Budden for their thoughtfulness in establishing a trust fund for their children in Tony's memory. In lieu of flowers, gifts can be made in his memory to the Trillium Health Centre Foundation or to trust fund. A celebration of Tony's life will be held at Turner and Porter Funeral Home, (905-279-7663) located at 2180 Hurontario St, Mississauga on Wednesday March 17th from 6-9 p.m. and on Thursday March 18th, from 2-4 p.m. and from 6-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held at St. Mary Star of the Sea, located at 11 Peter Street South, Port Credit at 10:30am. Burial will be a Glen Oaks Memorial Gardens located at 3164 Ninth Line (Hwy 403 & Dundas Street), Mississauga, immediately followed by a reception.
