VAN BRIDGE, Tony Peacefully, on December 20, 2004, surrounded by his family, at Upper Canada Lodge, Niagara- on-the-Lake, at the age of 87. Beloved father of Shona Bridge, David Cheyne and Peter Cheyne, Pieter Morpurgo and Michael Morpurgo. Loving grandfather of Michaela Kim (Dennis) and Rory Cheyne, as well as grandchildren in Britain. Great grandfather of Sadie Palmer Kim and great grandchildren in France. Survived by his ex-wife Stacey and predeceased by his second wife Elizabeth Bridge. Tony began his career as an actor in 1938 and didn't retire until 2000. He worked primarily at the Stratford Festival and in his later years at the Shaw Festival in Niagara-on-the- Lake. Private arrangements have been entrusted to the Niagara-on-the-Lake Chapel of the Morgan Funeral Homes, 415 Regent Street, Niagara-on-the-Lake. A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
