Betty PETER Obituary
PETER, Betty Clara (Larsen)
April 12, 1947 - June 7, 2023
In sorrow we announce the passing of our beloved breadmaker, dahlia supplier, quilting queen and card shark, Betty Peter (Larsen). More than just the world's best wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt, she was the heart of every community she joined. Betty was born in Manor and raised on a farm outside Redvers with her six siblings. She became a teacher, and while working in Filmore, she met the love of her life, Tony. They were married on July 14, 1973, and were inseparable from that moment on. They raised their family in Buchanan and taught at Rama School. They moved to Outlook, and found a community and church that she never wanted to leave. Betty's long-held dream of becoming a grandmother came true in 2020 when Natalie and Dominic joined the family. Her love for her grandchildren (and children) was known to all. Betty travelled the world, climbed mountains, and took pictures every step. She was happiest when she was supporting others – whether knitting hats and slippers, or sewing masks. We will always remember her welcoming spirit, her unconditional love, her warm smile, and her big hugs. Betty was predeceased by her parents Johanne and Einar, and her brothers Paul and Ralph (Frances). She is survived by her husband Tony, her daughters Kristie, Lyla (Martyn) and grandchildren Natalie and Dominic, her son Bruce (Alyshah), her siblings Ken, Leo (Laverne), Myrna (Hughie) and Egon, and a loving extended family. The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the staff at the Outlook and District Health Centre, St. Paul's Hospital and, in particular to RN Shawn, who provided care with grace and dignity to Betty in her final days. The family also thanks the Outlook Funeral Chapel for their support and the entire Outlook community for their generosity, love and copious amounts of food that they have shared with us as we grieve. A Funeral Service took place Tuesday, June 13, 2023 at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Outlook, SK. Interment followed at Outlook Cemetery. Donations may be directed to Bethlehem Lutheran Church or LCBI High School. Arrangements entrusted to Outlook Funeral Chapel. 306.867.8255
