Jan Burke Obituary

The family of the late Jan Burke would like to take this opportunity to sincerely thank those who have been so supportive of our family during this difficult journey. To family, friends and neighbours who have been so kind to prepare meals, send flowers and cards, have masses said in Jan's memory, and those who extended their thoughts and prayers with personal visits and phone calls, we are forever grateful. To my friends and colleagues at Highland Park Funeral Centre who have gone above and beyond in their support during this difficult time. We are grateful to Joe Farace and staff who so capably and professionally looked after every detail of Jan's funeral arrangements, James Belk, Mary McGee, Jeff Wakeford and their entire management team and Board of Directors who have been so incredibly supportive and compassionate during Jan's illness and death. To Fr. Alex Salazar, Pastor of Sacred Heart Church who visited Jan in our home, annointed her and celebrated so beautifully her Funeral Mass. To Sister Krolowa and Mary Porter for their weekly prayerful visits with communion. To organist Randy Mills, violinist Albert Moher, Gloria and Vince Crowley and choir for providing such beautiful music for Jan's Funeral Mass. She would have been so pleased. Our deepest appreciation to the ladies and our friends of Sacred Heart Auxiliary who provided a Guard of Honour during the Funeral Mass and served such a delicious luncheon following, Jan loved you so much and always appreciated your support and friendship. To our friends Heather and Rob LaPlante of the Cheese Shop who not only prepared such a lovely funeral luncheon but would often come by our home with meals during Jan's illness, thank you. To Denise Johnston of Rambling Rose Flowers who created lovely floral arrangements for Jan's wake and funeral, and to Bill McCarrell of St. Peter's cemetery for his kindness. To the pallbearers who brought Jan home one last time Sunday evening, thank you. We are sincerely grateful for the overwhelming support during this difficult time, we take comfort in it, and we will remember it always. We have lost a truly remarkable and courageous wife, mother, soon to be Grandmother, sister, sister-in-law, aunt and friend and we miss her dearly.
Sincerely, Ed, Emily, Julia, Troy, Tyler and Murphy.

Dear Ed and family:
I spoke to Jan only twice in my life, both conversations took place in front of the house on Princess street, I told her that I was raised in that house, and that I knew Ed and his family, and Neighbour Kelly. She was so warm and friendly that I immediately felt like I knew her all my life. I can´t imagine the sense of loss that you all must be feeling right now, just know that you are everyone `s thoughts and prayers., hugs to all

To Ed and the Entire Burke & Clark families,
Jan was a Wonderful person. Such a generous and caring soul. She will definitely have a special place in heaven. She will be so very missed! She also was fun to be around, smiling and laughing whenever we were preparing a meal at Sacred Heart. God will hold her close. Hold each other close, her special memories will warm your hearts through your tears. We are thinking and praying for you all. RIP Jan.
