My Good Friend Edith . you were a caring person..and you offered your support to me and we shared some thoughts together........

I remember the night when we had the whole gang together
at your house for a re-union.......
We talked until dawn laughing about the good old days

Those were the days with all of us together

We'll always remember you

My Friend Edith

I’ll miss you Edith, you were a special person in my life. You were one of the 1st people I met when I arrived in Toronto in 1985-----A newby from a small northern BC town of 3500. Edith and Stephen lived 2 doors down from me on Annette St. Edith taught me how to navigate the streets of Toronto via the buses and subways.

I remember when she bought her house on Criscoe St, and when she decided to renovate it herself she took an electrician course so she could re-wire her house. What moxie and determination.

I am left with treasured memories of – card games, picnics in the park, going to a different church every year for Christmas Eve service. I remember working nights at Inter-City Truck lines and driving home late at night seeing strange city sights and your Mom’s silly cigarettes.

We girls watched the Blue jays win the World Series in 1992 & 1993 and after the wins we drove Kim to a subway and saw people cheering and dancing in the street! It was chaos and we were there!

The last gathering of our friends was in 2001 at Edith’s house…poor Edith! She probably bit off more than she expected by hosting the re-union. There were 6 old friends present, Bev, Kim, Dar, Peg, Eric and me. Yes, I have pictures for proof! We were a big bunch of friends hanging out. We shared good times and laughter, and a few bad times too. We all agreed to meet again 5 years later but alas we didn’t, life happened and we didn’t find the way.

Edith, you touched a lot of people’s lives, myself included. I wish we could all be together to share the grief and the healing of friends at this time.

Always in our heart and prayers,

Your friends,

Jean Brown, Peg Krajewski, Darlene White
