ERIC WILLIAMS Obituary

WILLIAMS, ERIC Passed away peacefully at his home on June 7, 2020, at the age of 87. Survived by his devoted wife Georgenia; his children, Jennifer, Christopher and Nancy (Peter); his grandchildren, Wesley and Melissa. Eric grew up in St. John's and moved to Toronto, after Newfoundland joined Canada. He married his love on September 18, 1954, and soon joined McColl-Frontenac (later Texaco, and finally Esso), where he worked as a systems analyst for 37 years. Eric was a lifelong volunteer (hockey coach, Kiwanis, Schizophrenia Society, United Church), an active golfer and a garage sale sleuth. He loved his Haliburton cottage sailing and kayaking with his family. He was kind and caring, always thankful, generous with his time and advice, and loved to laugh. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Donations may be made to the Schizophrenia Society of Canada or the Alzheimer's Society.

Our condolences to you Georgenia at this sad time. I happily accepted your request on Facebook thinking to hear wonderful stories and news from you and was so upset to learn about Erics passing. How well we remember our friend and neighbour Eric. Always had a smile and warm welcome if we stopped by your home and come on in which we often did. We will keep in touch with you now that we are friends on Facebook. Treasure those wonderful memories you had together, you were blessed with many happy years.

Condolences to the Williams family - I am a Volunteer with Better Living where your beloved Eric attended our day program - Eric was a joy to be around always smiling and happy we had many talks about golf - sailing
and cottage life also Newfoundland as I have family in Bonavista

"Mr Eric" was my "foster father".
He took many under his wing, I'm proud to be one and a better person because of him. He will always be a grand champion in my heart!
