Jose CONSTANTINO Obituary

CONSTANTINO, Jose - Passed away Wednesday, October 9, 2013, at Scarborough General Hospital, in his 83rd year. Beloved husband of Maria Isabel (Mateus) for 62 years. Much loved father of Angelo, Peter and John (Julie), and caring grandfather to Michael, Alexander and Samuel. Born in Foz do Arelho, Portugal, July 20, 1931. After losing his father as a child and enduring many hardships, Jose began working on fishing trawlers as a teenager. In 1958, he left Portugal, moving his wife and young son to a new life in Canada. He spent most of his years as a skilled carpenter, working hard to raise his growing family. Jose proudly retired with Carpenters' Union Local 27. He enjoyed his remaining retirement years sojourning in Portugal and spending time with his family and young grandchildren. The family is grateful for the times spent at their Wasaga Beach cottage and house in Portugal, both tirelessly renovated by Jose. Never idle, Jose continued to offer his many skills to family and friends. A memorial for close family and friends is planned.

John,
My deepest sympathy to you and your family. I have fond memories of your father when I would see him at your house when I would take over babysitting duties from him when you and Julie were working late.
