LEONID SLAVINSKY Obituary

LEONID (LEON) SLAVINSKY Passed away suddenly in his 80th year on October 13, 2016 at home. Leon was born in Kiev, Ukraine to Aaron Slavinksy and Rosa Revitch on June 8, 1936. In 1974, he and his loving wife Alla and two children Helen and Marina came to Canada to start a new life. In doing so, he created an opportunity for all those he loved to lead a life full of opportunities that they would not have been afforded in their native land. He was a man of courage, principles, intellect, humour and endless love. A generous husband, father and grandfather; Leon leaves behind countless loving memories for his beloved wife of 57 years, Alla, his daughters Helen Slavinksy and Marina (née Slavinsky) Lund, son-in-law Christopher Lund and three adoring grandchildren, Nicole, Jack and Sacha. Leon holds a special place in the homes and hearts of the Lund and McManus households. He will be missed by all. A service will be held on Tuesday, October 18, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at Elgin Mills Cemetery, 1591 Elgin Mills Road East, Richmond Hill L4S 1M9, followed by a reception. All those wanting to celebrate Leon's life are welcome to attend. www.mountpleasantgroup.com

To Alla, Marina and everyone in the Christopher Lund family, my heart feels very heavy at the loss of such an amazing man. There will be an empty chair at the family gatherings we were so fortunate to have shared with him. Thinking of you all at this very difficult time.
