Dear Mr and Mrs Vogtle, Jenn and Laura, (and of course you, Matt)
Matt was an amazing best friend and never failed to put a smile on my face since the day I met him which is why I cannot possibly understand just how hard this is for you all. Unfortunately I couldn't make it to the funeral service in Toronto nor the dinner in Singapore but there isn't a day that has gone by that i haven't thought about him .
I love you Matt, I will never forget all the memories we shared :)

It is with great sadness that I heard the news about Matt. I remember him fondly from when he was in my science class at ACS. He was such a friendly and creative fellow whose smile could light up a room. I will always remember that about him.

Dear Liz, Rob, Jennifer, & Laura,
This is Helen (Diane's friend). I was so shocked and saddened to hear about young Matthew's passing. I can't imagine how hard it must be for you all. He was way too young. I believe I met him once when he was little, but I have seen pictures of him on Diane's Facebook page over the years. He struck me as such a nice, happy, and good looking young fellow.
I hope that memories of him will give you all peace, and that you will smile whenever something about him crosses your minds. I am sure he would want that. People are brought into one another's lives for a reason or a season or a lifetime. There might be a reason so powerful that you don't even know it yet.
