PETER LAURENCE JACKSON

PETER LAURENCE JACKSON 1928 - 2013 Passed away peacefully at his home on April 4, 2013. Peter Laurence Jackson was born on June 27, 1928 in Rochdale, England. He served in the Royal Fusiliers (City of London Regiment) from 1946 to 1948 and was stationed in Germany and Palestine. This was an experience which would impact the rest of his life. In 1951 he moved to Toronto and soon after met and married Rosemarie (nee Thierenbach). Peter worked for Canadian Fairbanks Morse and then later at Lytle Engineering until he retired early in order to devote his time fully to his mail-order, used book business - Peter L. Jackson Military Books. Peter will be fondly remembered by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him. His kind, warm and patient demeanor touched many lives. He is survived by Rosemarie, daughters Linda (William A. MCMaster) and Kathryn (Itai Jacob Drory) and grandchildren William Douglas and Elizabeth McMaster. Special thanks to Dr. Carol Kitai, WCH. A memorial reception will be held on Thursday, April 11th at the Morley Bedford Funeral Home, 159 Eglinton Avenue West, from 4 to 7 p.m. Donations may be made to the Toronto Humane Society or Women's College Hospital.
