I would like to offer my sincere condolences to the family of Dave Shearer. It was a pleasure to work with Dave at CJVI starting in 1954 and to continue our friendship forward through the years. Meeting Dave and Carol at a Basses Loaded concert not too many years ago was a delightful reminder of what a truly lovely person he was.

Dave was one of the first people I met when I went to CJVI in 1964. He was a mentor and a good, good friend. Over the years, my wife and I exchanged Christmas cards boasting photos of our cats. A good man. He'll be missed.

David will be remembered as a kind friend, a true gentleman with a voice that remains in the memory for ever. He will be sadly missed by us especially at the annual Van Dusen car show.
Rest in peace David.

Worked with Dave at CFAX back when. Always interesting to talk with and man that voice really was something special. One of my favorite stories about his model building was a boat, not just any boat but a submarine and it wasn't terribly small...4 feet maybe bigger as I recall. It was something of a technical marvel for the day and Dave caused quite a stir when he took it for run in the waters of Willows Beach... up and down it went.... onlookers were quite startled. It was the invasion of the Little People for sure! A great guy. A nice guy. Very fun to work with. Thanks Dave.
