Elaine Nixon Obituary

It is with broken hearts we said goodbye to our mom, grandma, and great grandma. Mom was born at home on the farm in Theodore Saskatchewan in 1933.Mom lived a full life growing up on the farm, teaching school in one room school houses throughout the prairies and eventually settling in Victoria where she married Clay Nixon and raised five children, Raymond, Michele, Yvette, Ronnie, and Suzanne. Mom always put her kids first and we will continue to honour her, she loved to recite poetry, a favourite was Rudyard Kipling's If, which are truly lines to live by. Mom will be missed by all that knew and loved her.

We think of her in silence, no eye may see us weep, but many silent tears are shed when others are asleep. Forever in our hearts.

Mrs. Nixon was our neighbour and my grade 1 teacher! It was strange running across this. I remember her older children. They were friends with my brother and sister. We are the Calder family from Cadillac days. So sorry to hear this news - late at that.

I am so sorry to lose my best friend of eighty years. We did everything together, school, high school, teacher's College and living in BC. I miss her already. She has a very nice family whom I'm sure will keep her memory alive. Love you, Elaine and I think of you so often.

I'm sorry for your loss. Mrs. Nixon (aka, Ronnie's Mom) was a member of our neighbourhood my whole life, and she will fondly remembered for her beautiful smile. My deepest condolences, Wilsie

I first met you Elaine as a young child. We were neighbors. We would run into each other occasionally throughout the years until I connected with Ron. I will always remember our times spent together, sitting outside in the sun, talking and listening; you had a lot of stories to share. Our crib games went on and on; often playing for 3 hours straight. I enjoyed your company so much. Know that your family is strong. Know that Ronnie is loved. Rest In Peace Elaine. Lest We Forget.
